Quantenchips: Infineon bringt Industrialisierungskompetenz in europäische Quanten-Pilotlinien ein

München, Deutschland – 22. April 2026 – Infineon Technologies AG ist ein zentraler Industriepartner zur Beschleunigung des europäischen Bestrebens hin zu praxistauglichen – und letztlich kommerziell nutzbaren – Quantencomputern. Mit erstklassiger Entwicklungs‑ und Fertigungskompetenz bringt sich Infineon gleich in drei europäischen Quanten‑Pilotlinienprojekten ein: SUPREME, CHAMP‑ION und SPINS.

Die europäischen Quanten Pilotlinien sind darauf ausgelegt, die Lücke zwischen Laborforschung und industrieller Großserienfertigung zu schließen. Sie bieten Start-ups, kleinen und mittleren Unternehmen sowie Forschungseinrichtungen einen offenen Zugang zu industrienahen Fertigungsinfrastrukturen, um Quantencomputing , Kommunikations und Sensortechnologien schneller voranzubringen. Insgesamt wurden sechs europäische Projekte auf unterschiedlichen Hardware Plattformen ausgewählt, um die Entwicklung von Quantenchip Technologien in Europa in den kommenden sieben Jahren entscheidend zu beschleunigen.

Quantencomputer ermöglichen wesentlich schnellere Berechnungen und zählen zu den bahnbrechendsten Technologien, da sie Durchbrüche bei komplexen Problemen ermöglichen, die mit klassischen Computern und sogar Supercomputern nicht zu lösen sind. Die Anwendungsfelder reichen von der schnelleren Entwicklung neuer Medikamente und neuer Materialien über die Optimierung von Lieferketten bis hin zum hoch¬effizienten Management intelligenter Stromnetze. Studien gehen davon aus, dass der globale Quantenmarkt insgesamt ein Volumen von bis zu 97 Milliarden US Dollar bis 2035 erreichen wird. Um dieses hohe Potenzial auch auszuschöpfen, braucht es eine schnelle Überführung der Forschungsergebnisse in die industrielle Fertigung. Quantensysteme können nur dann in die Skalierung gehen, wenn ihre Schlüsselkomponenten zuverlässig, reproduzierbar und mit höchster Präzision in großen Stückzahlen hergestellt werden können.

So gelingt der Schritt der Quantentechnologie vom Labor in die reale Anwendung“,sagt Sabine Herlitschka, Head of Strategic Funding Management bei Infineon Technologies.„Damit leisten wir einen wesentlichen Beitrag zu den Zielen des Europäischen Chips Acts und zur digitalen Souveränität Europas in dieser Schlüsseltechnologie.“

Vom Labor in die Fertigung und zur Skalierbarkeit

Infineon beteiligt sich an drei europäischen Quanten-Pilotlinien mit fokussierten Quantenplattformen auf Basis von Ionenfallen, supraleitenden sowie halbleiterbasierten Spin-Technologien. Mit diesem Multitechnologie‑Ansatz betreibt das hochqualifizierte Quantenteam von Infineon spezialisierte Labore, die eng mit der Halbleiterproduktion verzahnt sind. Die Zusammenarbeit innerhalb der Pilotlinien-Konsortien beschleunigt die Entwicklung verschiedener Quantenplattformen und verbindet diese mit der hochvolumigen Fertigung kritischer Hardware-Komponenten wie dem Quantenprozessor.

Infineon ist an folgenden drei Pilotlinien beteiligt:

CHAMP-ION (Championing a European advanced manufacturing of ion-traps)

Diese Pilotlinie baut Europas erste fortschrittliche Fertigungslinie für Ionenfallen‑Quantenchips. Unter der Leitung der Silicon Austria Labs (SAL) vereint das Projekt 21 Partner aus sechs Ländern. Ziel ist es, die gesamte Wertschöpfungskette – von Design und Mikrostrukturierung bis hin zu Test und Validierung – für vollständig integrierte, miniaturisierte und in Serie produzierbare Ionenfallen‑Systeme bereitzustellen. Diese Systeme integrieren Elektronik und photonische Strukturen auf einem einzigen Chip, um Quantencomputing und seine Anwendungen zu ermöglichen.

SUPREME (Pilot line for superconducting quantum Chips)

Das von der finnischen Forschungsorganisation VTT koordinierte Konsortium umfasst 23 Partner aus acht Ländern. Im Mittelpunkt steht die Industrialisierung supraleitender Quantentechnologien. Die Supraleitung ermöglicht effiziente Qubits, die mit bewährten Halbleitertechnologien hergestellt werden können und schnelle Quantenoperationen ermöglichen. Ein zentraler Meilenstein ist die Entwicklung eines 200 Qubit 3D integrierten Moduls, das eine verbesserte Stabilität, höhere Fertigungsausbeute und bessere Reproduzierbarkeit demonstrieren soll.

SPINS (Pilot line for industrial quantum NanoSystems)

Koordiniert von imec, treibt SPINS die Entwicklung von Quantenchips auf Basis von reinem Silizium oder Silizium

Silizium Germanium Strukturen voran. Durch den weitgehenden Einsatz standardisierter CMOS Fertigung wird die Skalierbarkeit ermöglicht. Das Konsortium mit 25 Partnern aus neun Ländern beschleunigt den Übergang vom Labor in industrielle Fertigungsstätten und stellt standardisierte Quantum Design Kits bereit, um um Kunden parallele Prozessdurchläufe auf einer Halbleiterscheibe zu ermöglichen.

Die europäischen Quanten Pilotlinienprojekte werden von der Europäischen Union kofinanziert und zusätzlich zum Teil von den teilnehmenden Ländern im Rahmen der Chips for Europe Initiative und des Chips Joint Undertaking (Chips JU) unterstützt.
